ABOUT SARAH JANE

My passion for singing and songwriting was kindled throughout my childhood in Scotland, growing up in a household filled with song and with summers spent watching an array of powerful performances at the Edinburgh Festival. I have a love for the story in the song, weaving complex themes of human relationships into my writing and aiming for my lyrics to hold the listener’s ear all the way through. 

Having written and performed with five piece band The Sandersons, I released my debut solo EP The Parrot Club in 2022. I was delighted to have the album featured in the FATEA showcase sessions and the title track played on the BBC Introducing Mixtape. My most recent venture, alongside the release of The Parrot Club, is with the newly formed trio Lacuna, and when not singing or songwriting I can be found with a banjo working away on my clawhammering!
